After-school Tutorial Program
This ministry offers a weekly tutorial program for students in elementary, middle and high school. Students receive homework assistance and computer training. These professionals and paraprofessionals offer their skills and service in an effort to bolster student academic success and achievement. The program also offers life skills personal development, conflict resolution, and performance incentives.
Christian Education is responsible for developing standards, preparing programs, offering classes, teaching Christian education, publishing material and training people for pastoral ministry and other church vocations in accordance with the tradition and doctrine of the AME Church.
This ministry seeks to teach all students the Word of God and to be faithful and obedient to it.
Commission on Christian & Social Relations (CC&SR)
This organization serves as an advocate voice for change by heightening the sensitivity of the congregation to current issues. It promotes social and ethnic awareness focusing on issues such as temperance, health, education, world peace, race relations, and social affairs.
The Courtesy Ministry seeks to provide a warm, friendly, and Christian environment for worshippers on Sunday mornings by greeting them at the door, extending a hand of welcome, distributing the worship guide and encouraging visitors to sign our church registry.
Covenant Ministry/ Couples Ministry
Throughout the year this ministry plans and hosts special experiences for couples and families with the intent of nurturing and strengthening relationships.
This ministry is the support system of the church designed to reach the lost, teach them what being a Christian means and keep them focused on living the Christian life.
The Health Commission provides information and resources to meet the health needs of our congregation and the neighboring community. They are available to assist with health emergencies during Worship and church events.
This is a ministry of Christian brothers dedicated to bringing men to a higher dimension of spirituality. The Master’s Men are called upon to welcome new brothers into the church and be a positive role model for the boys and young men of the church.
Ministry to Women
This ministry is committed to serving God, church, and community by placing our “FOCUS” on Faith, Outreach, Christ-centered, Unity in the body of Christ and Spiritual growth of those involved in and impacted by the ministry event/activities and sisters.
This ministry consists of the Oak Grove Mass Choir, The Voices of Praise (women), New Dimension (men), Level Up (young adult), and Sunbeams (children ages 3 - 12).
This ministry is focused on informing new members about the history, doctrines, and organizational structure of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The classes are structured in a series of three sessions.
The Senior Dignitaries is an organized group of mature Christians (age 55 and older) who come together to learn the Word, fellowship, and share information relevant to their specific age group.
Summer Youth Academy (SYA)
The Summer Youth Academy presents an innovative alternative to traditional Vacation Bible School for children ages 5-13. The curriculum includes arts and crafts, Bible classes, field trips and recreational activities.
The Usher Boards
The primary duties of ushers, known as doorkeepers, are to greet worshippers and direct their entry into the sanctuary, identify available seating, assist in the distribution of service-related materials and lift the offerings.
This ministry provides transportation for members and interested persons, who desire to attend services, meetings, conferences, and other special events.
It is the desire of the Ujamaa Ministry to undergird the efforts of Oak Grove’s youth and young adults as they equip themselves for the challenges which they will face in the future “preparing today for tomorrow.”
Vessels of Grace Dance Ministry
The dance ministry assists in invoking the Holy Spirit into the worship service with prophetic and interpretive dance. They minister at several church services, special church events and outside venues.
We Care Ministry
We Care is a grief and loss ministry, rooted in faith, supported by the Word and based upon the principles of confidentiality. Members of this ministry learn how to “grow” through grief to spiritual and emotional wholeness.
Young Prophets Academy
This ministry is a division of the Master's Men which is serves as a youth mentoring program for boys and young men between the ages of 7-16. The Young Prophets Academy is a spiritual and academic Afro-Centric ministry that mentors and trains young men to be positive role models in their homes, community and church.
This ministry is designed ensure that our youngest Christians are engaged in the work of the church.
