Lashawn D. Gary

Director of Music

Lashawn D. Gary serves as our Director of Music. Lashawn is an Emmy Award winning Composer/Producer/Arranger/Pianist. He is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Instrumental Music Education from Southern University A&M College, and a Master’s of Music Education Degree from the University of Louisville.

LaShawn is a music educator and currently teaches music with Southfield Public Schools.  He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and Phi Mu Alpha Professional Music Fraternity.  LaShawn is a Master’s Man and has been an active member of Oak Grove since 2001.
